So why Women In Landscaping?

Landscape Queensland recognises that Women in Landscaping play an integral role in many businesses and it’s vital that they receive opportunities to gain information, receive support, provide feedback and network on issues important to them!

Our industry is broad and diverse and often misunderstood in the wider community. As with the general construction industry, landscaping is often thought of as male dominated and whilst that may be true, when LQ engages with our contractor members it is often the wife or partner we speak to toiling away on the books/marketing/contracts and generally ‘running’ the business whilst the male is on the tools, often with a small team. It can be very isolating to be that female dealing with the myriad of frustrations that come with the territory of being self-employed.

The concept of Women In Landscaping was born out of a desire to bring together those ladies and others working in the full breadth of contractors and suppliers businesses, to share experiences, knowledge and inspiration, along the way empowering them to succeed. Women possess a lot of determination and resilience and those qualities are very important whether you are the business owner or employee – Landscape Queensland aims to further develop and foster those attributes which will ultimately benefit our industry as a whole into the future.
